on burnt golden hills I watched the sun wane in my passenger seat under your breath, you sang speeding down the highway, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” alone now, something seems to be wrong see, I never really cared much for that song but just once I heard it pass from your lips and suddenly I can’t seem to come to grips It’s almost as though you had taken a photograph in my own mind with just your voice such a simple memory that others would laugh but know that to feel this way was not by choice now I’d never say such a thing to your face I’m hardly even sure if I’m in your good grace but I want to write to remember how you made my heart race when you sang in my car, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain”

What is the sound of your touch against my skin?
